Journal Entry Number Eleven

Here I am just saying warning the lights are bright. The other is basically, there are no lights here.

This is whether or not I should start smoking hahaha.

This is a warning that maybe I should put on sunscreen or its not needed.

These signs are my choice of either riding my skateboard or ride the bus.

These light switches mean should I get ready with or without lights.

Journal Entry Number Ten

In this ad the guys is blowing smoke into the ladies face.
The tagline says, "Blow in her face and she'll follow you anywhere." It is a reference to ejaculation. I think the intended audience is men and I think they have some good comical direction here that is good, for men.

Journal Entry Number Nine

Here in this image I see the wheel and bicycles having been great inventions because they help with transport. The computer, just because its a computer. Photography is the best expression of a moment in time. Electricity and internet. The Gutenberg press of course for mass production of publications. Plumbing and even waterless urinals. Xrays... ouch... I been under the scope many times, due to skateboarding. The telephone or telegraph at that. Refrigeration or vending machines, duh, to keep your food fresh and at bay.

These are things I cannot live without. The laptop in order to use Adobe CS 5. Stay in touch with a client via gmail on my dual monitors. Project ready Dslr to go out and take stock photos with my chap stick of course. Come back design something cool, while snacking and save to my hard drive and print some copies for presentation.

Journal Entry Number Eight

These images' color attracted me first. I like the black and white simply because it filters out everything but the raw feelings. The other images carry signs of danger and caution. I feel that multi-color symbolism makes them create a system of the feelings, like be careful or else feel the anguish of dealing with me. The couple it seems is out of cohesion and at any moment one of the people could burst with anger.

These somber colors create a cold feeling, like emptiness is present and there is no way out. They all seem to have a stare that is empty and they are hoping for some comfort.

Visually I seen these four images illustrated joy. I integrated the two photos on the left because they were both symmetric and exhumed happiness and joy in similar ways, the act of being free and afloat brought energy that can be achieved through joy. The two on the right just reminded me that being free to express your joy however you feel is a reason to sing or dance.

This is for uninspired

These images got me thinking about the emptiness of being scared and not being able to achieve relief. The top left image's eyes have a stark contrast to the face that immediately functions as the initial feeling of being scared. From that image you are led into the panda. It is rhythmic. I think the black and white image in the lower left creates an exit. It feels like there is no ending and you are left lost and fading.

Journal Entry Number Four

Most of these arrow are basic arrows that offer the viewer direction. I found them in the Union. Some of these arrows are known as directions or commands on the computer. One arrow was used to show the northern direction on a map. One of the arrow was used on the Gatorade logo with the lightning, giving off some form of sense of intensity. One arrow was a decorative cloth hanging inside the Union dining area high above the tables. Another arrow was used as a sign for containment, for a Banker's Box label. These arrow are all depicted in different forms. They are all well blended in the packages design color scheme.

Journal Entry Number Three

I found these logos in my office at SUN Entertainment. Most of them are technology logos. Most of them are typographic. I think they are very well-known and recognizable. I think they have all been consistent. The only redesign is the Pepsi logo. I know the Pizza Hut logo has been redone but I took a photo of a small basketball backboard that my co-worker has above his trash can.
I see that most of the technology logos are in caps. The only others that are not are Nikon and I think the design of that has been around for much longer.

I like how the SOLO logo incorporates their product into their mark.

HP must have just did the opposite of all other tech companies. Their mark stand out from all other. I like the vertical symmetry and it is well balanced. I know it anywhere... I don't really like their video cards but they have a distinct logo.

Journal Entry Number Five

I made these signs to have a consistent look. like they were all made for the same company.

Here is the first. Just an exit sign. door opens and you can leave this way.

I chose to make it simple. A car housed under a roof. I chose simple colors for a lower quote from the printer too hahaha. I wanted to make the box around as well but I thought it would be framed as an outdoor sign that would illuminate at night so it would be housed.

The same with this design. It is simple with my idea of an executive. I wanted to make the capital E like the women's and men's but I just remembered who I work for. This image shows some kind of executive look.

For this sign I thought it was important to highlight the flames so people know it has some emergency type function.

A door with this image must read that the cleaning supply are stored here or the custodian is near.

For these two I wanted them to be simple again. I just used the initial for each restroom.

Journal Entry Number Two

Little Miss Muffet
Sat on a tuffet
Eating her curds and whey;
Along came a spider,
Who sat down beside her
And frightened Miss Muffet away.

Journal Entry Number One

I think I see myself as someone who is just happy and is more interested in smiling and making others smile. I have been asked before, "why do you smile so much?", and my reply was "I don't know, I just do".

I think other see me as a good friend. I always get phone calls and email from friends that is just them pouring out their problems to me and they seek my feedback. I kindly do what I can and I think that is why I choose this image.
